Update - sorry been busy
Hey all,
Soooo I haven't updated this game in a while. To be honest, my time has been taken up by another game project: the art house VR. Without going into too much detail, I was accepted into a Facebook/Oculus program called Launch Pad where they gave me a free headset and asked me to make a vertical slice for a project they may or may not fund. I pitched them a virtual art gallery, and after they were like "ok cool heres a headset make us a demo" I spent ~3 months making a demo, which is publicly available on my itch.io page. I pitched my vertical slice last week at the facebook campus, and will be hearing back from them sometime this month (the pitch actually went really well i think!). Literally right after pitching, my partner and I moved out to Seattle. I'm hoping living in Seattle as opposed to living with parents is going to make me happier lmao. I'll probably be happier when Ikea delivers all of our furniture.
Basically, what this meant for Nano Pets is that I hardly had any time to work on it. That's hopefully gonna change starting..... soon? The amount I'll be able to work on Nano Pets this will depend on whether I get funding for the art house VR. If I get funding, Nano Pets will need to be a nights/weekend project (since it's not making money yet) until the art house VR is launched. If it isn't, I'll be splitting time on both pretty equally. Regardless though, my plan is to get the ball rolling again on Nano Pets again.
The next things I'll likely be working on will be the micro jobs. I need there to be a reason for people to play the game every day, and I have a few ideas for small randomly-generated daily jobs to afford food and bills and insurance. I think it'll be fun and interesting. We'll see.
So yeah, just wanted to give a quick update. I've been in a really weird state of bouncing around houses and living in stressful environments. Hopefully this will turn around and I can get back to a regular work schedule. Here's a pic of my temporary battle station. See you all soon.
